Cemeteries can be interesting places, as some have gravestones that were erected two, three, or more centuries ago. The styles, sizes and lettering can be very revealing of the culture, history and customs of that particular time.
In our time the cemeteries are filling up and in the cities extra space is not only costly but also impossible to find. More people today decide to be cremated (with the ashes sometimes interred in church ground), and an increasing number who are concerned with the environment are turning to different forms of ‘green’ burials, some of which promote woodlands as well.
We will all come to the end of our physical lives at some point, so it is a good idea not only to make a will but to also think about how you want your body disposed of.
