When the daffodils make their magnificent show we know that winter is over and that the days lengthen; the prospect of greater sunshine is in our hearts. No wonder that Wordsworth was moved to write his famous poem. It was also a real favourite of the artist Vincent van Gogh, who found it happy and stimulating, a tonic for someone who suffered from depression.
Of all the colours yellow has the highest reflectivity, which makes the colour radiate outwards giving it a brightness and vitality.
Yellow is associated with the solar plexus, a centre that involves strong emotions and personal power, and in addition with intuition, intellect and faith.
