A mixture of red and yellow, orange is a warm and dynamic colour, being both bright and invigorating. Connected often to the sun it is associated with fire and flame, also to luxury, maybe because of the colour of old gold. The colour is symbolic of love and happiness in Buddhism.
The positive aspects to orange are joyfulness, optimism, confidence, enthusiasm and sensitivity, while negative aspects are pride, ruthlessness and selfishness. It is interesting to note that orange is used in advertising where an image of power is required, and in the fast food area where a feeling of cheerfulness is needed, as well as its supposed properties in aiding digestion.
A colour often used by healers because it combines energy to the physical body (red) with wisdom to the mind (yellow). It is a good colour for those feeling depressed or lethargic.
